Overview

The whole bottom floor of our house is garage. It's split in the centre by a dividing wall which means there are two rooms. Unfortunately each side has a single garage door with no options for increasing the size of the openings so there be a limit to how far I can get with the construction while still being able to get the plane out.

The floor is concrete and the walls bare stone.

The mortar used in France is very strange and seems to crumble and fall from the wall as soon as you look at it. I've therefore started to plasterboard the walls and will progress round the garage as and when; this also paves the way for possible conversion to living space in the future.

I thought long about painting the floor as it seemed like a bit of a luxury. However, having forked out for a water based epoxy paint I am so pleased that I did. I've used floor paint from a local DIY store before and after a few months it was flaking off and looked a real mess. This stuff is in a different league. The finish is excellent and durable beyond belief. I've actually dropped my metal vice on it with minimal damage - amazing! Cleaning up and finding small dropped items is so easy - recommended.
